Our organic family farm offers a wide array of organic produce and meats to our region, Bedford County. We practice sustainable living in harmony with our selves and our environment. Our newsletter, "The Local Yokel" contains much of the information we learn and experience along the way...

aware of the share

Shares are a composition of members that buy into a produce subscription from a farmer who wishes to grow fresh, healthy produce for members within the share system.  This method has been adopted by us, to make it easier to concentrate on growing organic goodness, while maintaining a regular customer base throughout the season without adding long distance foodmiles to our fruits and vegetables. Share-members benefit by receiving a steady flow of extremely fresh, seasonal produce (pick the day you receive it) at an affordable rate. This also gives members an opportunity to support local, organic practices while strengthening their regional agriculture, which happens to be a mainstay in our Bedford County economy.

The contents vary from week to week throughout the harvest season.
Spring is fun for producing snap peas, pea shoots & blossoms, radishes, green onions, lettuces and baby beets!

Strawberries, wax & green bean mix, Swiss chard, purple peppers, tomatoes sage & basil and the last of the snow peas for a taste of the summer harvest.

Oh, and zucchini, purple beans, a huge variety of tomatoes...

carrots, delicious juicy beets, herbs and raspberries to name a few!

      Pesto, pesto, pesto!!!

This is just a small taste of the Horn O' Plenty harvest!!!

Our share sizes are full, half and small. The different sizes are for families and individuals to choose from according to how much they will consume throughout the harvest season. To join our 2011 community supported agriculture (C.S.A.). submit an application before the deadline of April 22nd (Earth day). To participate call or email for an application sent via ground mail. (814) 285-2658
